Travelling to Brussels with less than 60 pounds.
About 6 months ago I had a crazy urge to travel but I only had 60 pounds in my pocket.
So I decided to take an overnight bus from London to Brussels. The plan was: I would sleep on the bus, arrive in Brussels at 6 am, explore as much as I could and get the bus back in the evening.
So here is what I have seen on my 16 hours in Brussels:

Comic Strips
Brussels is the capital of comic strips. The whole city is filled with over 50 comic strip murals.
Tintin, Gaston, Lucky Luke and even the Smurfs were created in Brussels.
Tintin is everywhere. At the museum, book shops, streets..
Tintin is for Brussels what Rihanna is for Barbados (yep, what a weird comparison)
If you go to the tourist information centre at the Town Hall of Brussels you can buy a map with the Comic Route and find all the Comic Strip Murals and the Comic Strip Museum.

Food
If you have a sweet tooth like I do you will love Brussels.
The city is filled with little chocolate shops and the most delicious belgian waffles.

Manneken Pis
Manneken Pis is one of the most famous attractions of Brussels.
It is a bronze statue of a little boy peeing.
Apparently the statue has many different outfits, his wardrobe ranges from Santa suits to national costumes from countries around the world.
Today he was chinese.

Art and Architecture
"Brussels is the capital of Art Nouveau and magnificent structures throughout the capital city are recognized as "world heritage" by UNESCO. The brilliant creative works of Victor Horta, Paul Hankar, as well as those of other architects, bring pleasure to thousands of visitors who enter the private world of these opulent houses every year."

And ending the day watching a band play at La Grand Place.
Attention: Lots of weird dance moves and a girl dressed as a Smurf.
So that was my day in Brussels.
An inspiring city full of life, art and the most mouth watering waffles you will ever see.
